UAV COMPATIBILITY WITH SKYCAT PRODUCTS
SKYCAT PRODUCTS CATER FOR UAV'S IN THE 2KG - 23 KG WEIGHT CATEGORIES
At Skycat, our mission is to protect UAVs - a bit like having a safety net around your investment. Our parachutes deploy within milliseconds and should your UAV ever get into difficulty it will minimise the risk of damage, even if your UAV is flying at a low altitude.
Skycat's innovative products cater to a wide range of weight classes and to understand the necessity of a parachute, we provide you with two scenarios:
#1: a UAV with a payload of 3kg, fitted with a Skycat X48 parachute. If it gets into difficulty mid-flight, the UAV's decent will be at a speed of 5.7 m/s with an energy of 49 joules.
#2: the same UAV, same inflight difficulty, minus a parachute. It will decent at an increased rate of 50 m/s and energy of 12,500 joules - enough to cause serious damage on impact to your machine and/or buildings, people, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: The parachute should be selected based on total payload. If your drone is 7 kg and there's 1 kilo of payload, then the rig should be optimised for 8 kilos.
Also the descent speed should be optimised for safety vs. weight. For example, in France the regulations require that the impact energy is 67 joules or less [when flying within a populated area].
See the impact energy and descent speed tables for each category below.
Our products cater for drones in the 2kg - 10kg weight categories

SKYCAT Xs 1-3KG WEIGHT CATEGORY
Introducing our latest product, the Skycat XS. This weight category is great for sUAV and drone hobbyists!
- DJI Phantom 3

Hello, World!
Skycat x48 2-3kg weight category
Drones in this weight category are great for aerial photography, land inspections, data collection, surveys, video productions and more, due to their ability to lift a modest payload, such as gimbals and cameras.
