Legal requirements of Rescue radio
Note that your country regulations may limit max. power used and determines legal frequencies used. Radio modules we use allows these settings changed afterwards by a customer. For instance if you fly at different countries you could adapt to meet local regulations.
Radio module options are 100 mW max. power version and 500 mW max. power version. We recommend to use 500 mW version because it allows to change settings directly by integrated interface of radio module at any time anywhere without any special tools. 100 mW version requires either TBS Tango radio transmitter or Taranis radio transmitter to access these settings. We are happy to adjust settings before shipping as customer requires.
Before shipping if not otherwise requested by a customer we configure Rescue radio frequency to meet buyer shipping country regulation, if easily available online. Max power is set to module default as an adaptive setting. Module use minimum 10/25mW power required for flight situation automatically. In case flight distance or environment requires, radio module adjust power up to max. power. Max. power can be limited by a customer from settings.
Rescue radio supports two alternative frequencies, 868 MHz and 915 MHz, and these can be changed by a customer afterwards.
Why Skycat
Minimal impact for flight characteristics
This is very solid recovery system and fits perfectly in balance at center of the aircraft. Inspire 2 sensors and GPS has completely free field of view with recovery system installed.
Real parachute descent velocity values
We represent descent velocity values like parachute manufacturers represents and we agree, except Opale Paramodels. Opale parachute performance values changed some time ago based on our measurements to too optimistic. We still today represent Opale original values which are not as good as manufacturer represents today but with these values you could feel free to apply application for authorities.
Specs
Weight of mounting kit, launcher and our best parachute IFC-48-SUL is approx 400 grams all gears aboard and ready to eject
Parachute options for X48-CF launcher:
- IFC-48-SUL. Effective diameter 48" (effective diameter when deployed in air, not flat diameter like some manufacturers represents)
- Opale 1.8 sqm (fabric area 1.8sqm)
Descent velocity and impact energy with IFC-48-SUL parachute:
- Inspire 2 X4S: 5.04 m/s / 50.12 J (S3-DGAC France)
- Inspire 2 X5S: 5.16 m/s / 55.32 J (S3-DGAC France)
Descent velocity and impact energy with Opale 1.8 sqm parachute:
- Inspire 2 X4S: 6.3 m/s / 77 J
- Inspire 2 X5S: 6.4 m/s / 85 J
General information
Reliable performance in all weather conditions
Patented Fuse technology has a working temperature range of -25°C - +50°C (-13°F - +122°F). Absence of moving parts in the release mechanism offers unbeatable reliability, even in freezing temperatures.
No explosives, gases or mechanical servos
Parachute is ejected by a high strength spring which is held down by a Skycat Fuse®. It is released by electricity, which burns the Fuse and releases the piston. No permits are required to transport Skycat system via airlines. Skycat Fuse® mechanism is designed to stand still armed for prolonged time and wait for eject command whereas servo is designed to move!
Center of gravity
Weight is distributed on both sides of the copter, allowing more natural center of gravity and more stable flight characteristics.
Are you RC - enthusiast and want to set up using own skills?
We are those and understand you. You may have range of JR - modules for radio already and you enjoy assembly. Please contact us and we can collect a KIT which contains all non standard RC - components and you could assemble by yourself, more economically.
